About StrikeTracks
StrikeTracks is a standalone fishing-information product. It helps anglers review destination conditions and fishery context before they make the drive.
What StrikeTracks covers
Coverage includes rivers, lakes, coastal destinations, and offshore destinations. Available observations and guidance vary by destination. StrikeTracks does not claim nationwide completeness, real-time monitoring at every water, or Estimated Conditions everywhere.
Some river, lake, coastal, and offshore destinations may be Information Only when StrikeTracks intentionally does not offer a live fishing-condition product for that destination. An active condition product that cannot currently produce a trustworthy result is Unavailable. Information Only is not Unavailable, and it is not Estimated Conditions.
Offshore destinations are currently Information Only for fishing-condition status as a category. When supported, those pages may still present Marine Conditions as separate planning context. Marine Conditions are not a fishing-condition rating.
How conditions are classified
Where qualifying current monitoring or data sources are supported, StrikeTracks presents Monitoring-backed Conditions. Estimated Conditions appear only when qualifying direct monitoring is not available and an accepted estimated path exists. Estimated is not offered everywhere and is not equal in confidence to monitoring-backed data. Absence of direct monitoring alone does not imply Estimated.
Condition ratings and recommendations are decision support. They are not guarantees of fishing success, safety, or access.
How product decisions are guided
- Useful before impressive
- Destination quality over raw count
- Observations before assumptions
- Clear uncertainty
- Fishery protection and safety
